Caltrain

Caltrain must be able to continue their rail operations during the future construction of Palo Alto’s grade separations.

They have established criteria for the City to use as a design guide for grade separations. Caltrain will need to confirm the preferred alternatives from Palo Alto to ensure the criteria are met. The City requested information from Caltrain in a letter in 2018. Here is the response letter from Caltrain dated December 19, 2018.

Caltrain is also undergoing a business plan discussion concurrent with the grade separation discussions. It anticipates growth scenarios for Caltrain service. Here is the business plan’s dedicated web site, caltrain2040.org, and another Caltrain Business Plan web page.

Here is a Caltrain’s dedicated web site for its modernization (electrification) program, calmod.org, and another Caltrain Modernization web page.
